Getting my wisdom teeth taken out may not have been the ideal way to kick off an entire week with NO SCHOOL, but that's okay because the girls and I definitely made the most out of the rest of our time off. The good news is that after my surgery, I bounced right back and life went back to normal after about two days (I'm just glad my time off didn't have to we wasted in recovery). On Tuesday, I was finally able to eat real food that didn't have to be sipped through a straw, and what better way to kick it off than by TACO TUESDAY! I have to admit, I'm not a fan of tacos, but I was so excited for them. I guess that's what happens when you basically don't eat for a few though. And that was just the beginning of the week...
You know you've been having a good time when you can't even remember everything you've done in the last week haha. Sadly, beauty school starts up again tomorrow, but hey, only a few more days until the weekend :)
I can't believe it's already Sunday! I guess time really does fly wen you're having fun. This weekend was MORP, and let me tell ya, my friends sure know how to party. I was assisting in a salon yesterday, and as soon as I got off I had to rush to Tay's to get ready. I might have been more excited to get ready than for the actual dance. We all did space buns with glitter roots and bright purple lip stick.
Surprisingly, we were actually all ready on time. If you know the three of us (me, Taylor, and Brenna) then you know it's a rare day when we are actually ready to go somewhere on time haha. We all left to go pick up the boys, pick up some food, then we ended up back at Taylor's house for an indoor picnic. We were planning on having one outside like normal people, but we didn't take into consideration the fact that it gets dark at night. Whoops. Next stop? The dance! We rolled up, grabbed our tickets, and walked in. Of course, we had to show up fahionably late. By the time we got there, everyone was already covered in powder. We danced and danced and danced, screamed along with the music, and every 45 minutes, there was another color toss. Needless to say, by the end of the night, we were all covered in powder too and our voices were all a little scratchy. We had fun things planned for after the dance too, but we never really got around to them . We first went over to Porter's to get some of the power off. He turned on the air compressor and blew all of the color out of our hair, we wiped it all off our bodies (the best we could at least), and changed into some powder-free clothes. By the time we were all ready, we were for sure too tired to actually do anything. So, we ended up laying around for a few hours just hanging out and editing pictures. That was fine with me though because I could be doing absolutely nothing will my friends and still have a good time! My goal was to make the most of the time we all have left together before everyone goes there separate ways over summer, and last night was definitely a stellar way to kick that plan off. I know my friends and I spend a lot of time together, but it isn't very often that our nights are girls only. Sometines I miss spending a night in with my best friends. So, we declared last night a girls night. That meant NO BOYS ALLOWED! If you picture your basic all girls sleep over that you see in the movies, that's pretty much how our night went. It started at the Great Gadsby Bakery because dessert before dinner is always a good idea. We got the cutest milkshakes I have ever seen! One was strawberry cheesecake and the other was cookie dough. If you live in Arizona, you definitely need to go check the bakery out for yourself!
Our next stop was for take out. We didn't really think about how much food we were ordering and just got what sounded good, but we ended up with enough food to last for the rest of the week! While we were waiting for our order, a mom came up to the three of us and asked us to take a picture. Naturally, I assumed she wanted me to take a picture of her and her kids but no. She said that her oldest son (he was probably about 9) had a crush on us and wanted us in the picture! He came over and stood by us and so did her other son who was probably 2. Then, she handed me her baby! Haha it was so funny and also one one the weirdest experiences ever, but we kind of felt like celebrities. We brought our food back to Tay's and turned on a movie. We painted our nails and did face masks too. Baically, we made the night as cliche as possible. To top it off, we got out the blankets, sat down on the couch, and turned on a scary movie. The whole night was so much fun and much needed. We difninitely need to make nights like that more of a regular thing! I guess my friends and I just can't stay away from the snow! Since we had this last Monday off for MLK Day, my friends and I decided to head up to Kyle's cabin. We were up and on the road before the sun even came up. It was only a couple of hours away, but drives with my friends are always a blast. When we got to the cabin, we brought out stuff inside and the boys went to go get the quads and razor. We bundled up in our snow clothes, then took to the mountains. After a couple of hours, we had to head back to the cabin to let our fingers and toes thaw out. At the cabin, we all bundled up in blankets and turned on a movie.
For the rest of the day, we kept going back and forth between the snow and the blankets. And what kind of day would it be if we didn't turn up the music and have our own little dance party? Granted the guys were "too cool" to participate, but that's okay. We had a mini snowball fight, played card games, and Kyle even grilled burgers for dinner. Reluctantly, we all cleaned up the cabin so it looked like we were never there, put the quads away, and hit the road. Though I was exhausted by the time I got back home, the entire day was so much fun. It was cool to all be on our own and it gave me a glimpse of what it was like to be an actual adult that takes care of themselves. But, as much fun as it was, I still love my family and living at home with all of them. It's fun to get out and have adventures like that, but I am so not ready for that to be an every day thing. Good thing I still have six more months before I have to be ready for that!
Since Monday was my last day off before I had to head back to school, I decided that I needed to go out with a bang, so, the night before, some friends and I made some quick plans to go snowboarding. I rounded up some snow clothes and decided that I that it would probably be wise to go to bed a little earlier than normal since we were going to leave at 4 in the morning. However, when you've been going to bed at 3am for almost three weeks, it's really hard to go to bed early. I think I got a solid 45 minutes of sleep before my alarm woke me up to get ready to go. Surprisingly, I didn't feel that tired managed to stay up for the entire 4 hour car ride.
We finally pulled up to Sunrise and we were all surprised to see how few cars were there; the mountain was practically empty. We all started layering the clothes on, strapped up, and headed toward the ski lift. I hadn't been since last year so it took a second to get back in the feel of things. then, Beecher tried to teach me to go on my toe side. I started to get the hang of it after a few runs, but I fell back on my butt so many times I lost count. On my last run, I hit it so hard I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to get back up haha. That's when I knew I had to call it quits. I headed back to the car to take some medicine and wait for the boys to go down the mountain a few more times. Finally they came knocking on the window, we threw all of our snow clothes into the back of the car, and started the drive back home. It was a crazy long day and my body is sore in places I didn't even know it was possible to be sore, but it was 100% worth it. I can't think of a better way to spend my last day of break or better people to spend it with. |
