Pretty much everyone in Arizona decided to go to California for the fourth, and I don't blame them. You know when you're cooking something, and you open the oven to take it out, and all of the hot air comes out and gets in your face? Well, that's what it feels like when you open the front door. Basically, it's one of the worst experiences ever. So, instead of going to California like everyone else, DJ and I decided to just stay home and have a BBQ pool party type thing.
DJ and I made dinner and invited our friends over to come party with us (all of our friends that were in this state at least). Let me just say, after looking at our BBQ, you would never guess a couple teenagers threw it all together. It was actually lots of fun, and it made me realize that I actually might be okay living on my own. Besides, my mom is only going to be 30 miles away. We ate, swam, then went and climbed on top of a church building to watch the fireworks all over the city. When all the fireworks were over, DJ started a fire and we made s'mores. Fun fact: making s'mores when it's 100 degrees outside is extremely messy and everything will melt. It's still fun to do though:) |
