When you only have one week off from school, you better make the most of it. I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than on the beach with one of my best friends. Not only was the ocean right in our backyard, we could ride bikes 10 minutes in one direction and we were at Belmont Park, and if we went the other direction, there were tons of great places to shop at (I'm pretty sure Jaycie and I went shopping every day we were there). Would you believe it gets better than that? Better Buzzed Coffee (only the best coffee shop I have ever been to) was a five minute walk right behind the house. As soon as we woke up, that was always our first stop. It was so much fun to ride bikes, and go to the beach, and shop, and just relax and take a break from school. I'm just happy that I was able to squeeze all of the new clothes that I bought into my suitcase for the ride back home.
As far as birthdays go, I think it is safe to say that this has been one of the best ones I have had so far. My parents got me a hotel room In Tempe only minutes from Mill Avenue. The hotel was called Moxy, and it was probably the cutest hotel I have seen in my entire life. Lauren and I drove up, and when I walked into the lobby, my jaw actually dropped; it was very urban and decorated the same way I want to one day decorate my apartment. The hotel room was just as cute (I almost didn't even want to leave the room to go do anything). After spending way too much time gawking at the room and hotel and just about everything else, we changed into our suits and went down to the pool for a few hours. When we were done at the pool, Jaycie met us in the lobby and we went back upstairs to get ready.
As you would expect when you have a room full of girls, we stayed up for hours talking, then decided to turn on a scary movie. Too bad we didn't even get to any of the scary parts; as soon as it came on, we were all dead asleep within the first 15 minutes. If that weekend was any indication of how this year is going to be, there are many many more adventures and good times to come.
Lauren and I had such a great time at the Dirty Heads concert when I heard that they were going to be in Tucson in a few weeks, I just had to buy tickets.
Is there a better way to end summer vacation than going to a concert with your best friend? If there is, I can't think of it. We may have momentarily gotten lost in Phoenix and witnessed a few homeless people getting into a fight, but it was so worth it because the concert was bomb.com
