When my mom was younger, her grandma would send each of the grandkids a sugar cookie with cinnamon frosting on Valentine's Day. I would like to give a quick shoutout to my great grandma for that because, every year on Valentine's Day, my mom makes sugar cookies with cinnamon frosting. If you haven't tried one of my mom's cookies then I feel sorry for you because you have no clue what you're missing out on. Hands down, this is my favorite part about February, and I can't wait to make cookies for my own kids:) And be sure to check out Hello Honey for a cute Valentine's Day outfit if you don't have one already!
I know my friends and I spend a lot of time together, but it isn't very often that our nights are girls only. Sometines I miss spending a night in with my best friends. So, we declared last night a girls night. That meant NO BOYS ALLOWED! If you picture your basic all girls sleep over that you see in the movies, that's pretty much how our night went. It started at the Great Gadsby Bakery because dessert before dinner is always a good idea. We got the cutest milkshakes I have ever seen! One was strawberry cheesecake and the other was cookie dough. If you live in Arizona, you definitely need to go check the bakery out for yourself!
Our next stop was for take out. We didn't really think about how much food we were ordering and just got what sounded good, but we ended up with enough food to last for the rest of the week! While we were waiting for our order, a mom came up to the three of us and asked us to take a picture. Naturally, I assumed she wanted me to take a picture of her and her kids but no. She said that her oldest son (he was probably about 9) had a crush on us and wanted us in the picture! He came over and stood by us and so did her other son who was probably 2. Then, she handed me her baby! Haha it was so funny and also one one the weirdest experiences ever, but we kind of felt like celebrities. We brought our food back to Tay's and turned on a movie. We painted our nails and did face masks too. Baically, we made the night as cliche as possible. To top it off, we got out the blankets, sat down on the couch, and turned on a scary movie. The whole night was so much fun and much needed. We difninitely need to make nights like that more of a regular thing! On Christmas Eve, Arizona got an early Christmas present...RAIN! Too bad it wasn't a bit colder, otherwise we could have had a white Christmas. My family bundled up, put on our hats, and ventured out to go see Moana. Disney really knows how to kick it out of the park because this was another great movie. The whole family loved it; especially Dad since his idol (The Rock) was in it. Afterwards, we decided to stop at In-N-Out for a very high-class, gourmet Christmas Eve dinner haha. As usual, we opened up our new pajamas, then spent the rest of the night playing games until our parents sent us to our rooms so Santa could come. On Christmas Day, Whitney came around at 9:00 waking everyone up. We opened gifts, ate brunch, had the annual fashion show to try on all of our new clothes, watched movies, made dinner, and just hung out.
Next year, I'll be coming home from college to celebrate Christmas with my family, and I couldn't picture a better last Chrsitmas living at home. Christmas time is here and that means countless family parties (unless you're like me and don't have any family in the state). So, instead of getting together with my family and doing Christmasey things like a white elephant gift exchange, I get to do them with all of my friends, and in our pajamas! Now, in my opinion, white elephant parties should not only be a Christmas time thing. Hands down, it might be one of my top 5 favorite things about this holiday season. Last night, some of my friends and I got together and had our own gift exchange, and it was so fun, I couldn't not share it with everyone.
I know a lot of people aren't happy with the candidates we have, but you can't complain about what happens if you don't even go out and vote. Shoutout to the nineteenth amendment because I got to go and fill out a really long paper with a bunch of names on it, but it was worth it because they gave me this cool sticker to wear all day.
