The past few weeks have been busy to say the least, but I'm back and even better, I'm out of school! I can't believe high school is over, I remember my teachers telling me on the first day of school how fast the next four years would go by, and I didn't really realize how right they were going to be. I'm glad I can say that I loved high school. It's where I found the best group of friends I could ever ask for and I am extremely thankful we have all stuck together for all four years. To celebrate, The Band (minus Brenna) all went up to Lake Powell for a few days. For any of you who don't already know, we named our group of friends The Band. Anyway, we took our houseboat out for a couple of days and surfed, and wake boarded, and hammocked, and just hung out. I have been going to Lake Powell every year since I was three weeks old, and I can honestly say that was the best trip I have ever been on. As great as it was to finish high school and go to graduation, it didn't really feel real until two days ago when I finally completed all 1600 I need to go and test for my cosmetology license. After almost two years and lots of really long days, I am so happy to finally be done. Now, I just have to wait until I get assigned a test date, then I can finally get to work on people's hair legally haha. Now that I'm all done with school until August, I can finally relax and enjoy my summer. My first stop is the British Virgin Isles, so stayed tuned to hear all about my trip!
Getting my wisdom teeth taken out may not have been the ideal way to kick off an entire week with NO SCHOOL, but that's okay because the girls and I definitely made the most out of the rest of our time off. The good news is that after my surgery, I bounced right back and life went back to normal after about two days (I'm just glad my time off didn't have to we wasted in recovery). On Tuesday, I was finally able to eat real food that didn't have to be sipped through a straw, and what better way to kick it off than by TACO TUESDAY! I have to admit, I'm not a fan of tacos, but I was so excited for them. I guess that's what happens when you basically don't eat for a few though. And that was just the beginning of the week...
You know you've been having a good time when you can't even remember everything you've done in the last week haha. Sadly, beauty school starts up again tomorrow, but hey, only a few more days until the weekend :)
Today was a day I have been dreading for MONTHS! I had to get my wisdom teeth removed. When I went in for my consultation a few weeks ago, I found out I would have to get an IV in order to be put to sleep. I completely lost it when I found out. I have good new though! I popped an anti anxiety pill before the surgery and I was all good after that. I was asleep before I knew it! I have been at home icing my face all day hoping I don't puff up too bad later because guess what? My senior pictures are in a week! Cross your fingers and hope my face still looks normal by then haha.
Lately, I have been crazy busy with high school, beauty school, working, and trying to find time to go to the gym, so it has been really nice to be forced to stay home. I missed being able to spend my days in bed watching Netflix. I know I have kind of been slacking on my blog lately, but I'm going to do better I promise! And who knows, maybe one day I'll have to face my fear of bellybuttons too. I can't believe it's already Sunday! I guess time really does fly wen you're having fun. This weekend was MORP, and let me tell ya, my friends sure know how to party. I was assisting in a salon yesterday, and as soon as I got off I had to rush to Tay's to get ready. I might have been more excited to get ready than for the actual dance. We all did space buns with glitter roots and bright purple lip stick.
Surprisingly, we were actually all ready on time. If you know the three of us (me, Taylor, and Brenna) then you know it's a rare day when we are actually ready to go somewhere on time haha. We all left to go pick up the boys, pick up some food, then we ended up back at Taylor's house for an indoor picnic. We were planning on having one outside like normal people, but we didn't take into consideration the fact that it gets dark at night. Whoops. Next stop? The dance! We rolled up, grabbed our tickets, and walked in. Of course, we had to show up fahionably late. By the time we got there, everyone was already covered in powder. We danced and danced and danced, screamed along with the music, and every 45 minutes, there was another color toss. Needless to say, by the end of the night, we were all covered in powder too and our voices were all a little scratchy. We had fun things planned for after the dance too, but we never really got around to them . We first went over to Porter's to get some of the power off. He turned on the air compressor and blew all of the color out of our hair, we wiped it all off our bodies (the best we could at least), and changed into some powder-free clothes. By the time we were all ready, we were for sure too tired to actually do anything. So, we ended up laying around for a few hours just hanging out and editing pictures. That was fine with me though because I could be doing absolutely nothing will my friends and still have a good time! My goal was to make the most of the time we all have left together before everyone goes there separate ways over summer, and last night was definitely a stellar way to kick that plan off. |
